Backup And Recovery

Backup refers to the copying of data so that these additional copies may be restored after a data loss event. Backups differ from archives and backup systems differ from fault-tolerant systems. Backups are useful primarily for two purposes: restoring a computer to an operational state following a disaster (called disaster recovery) and restoring small numbers of files after they were accidentally deleted or corrupted.

Disaster Recovery

A Disaster Recovery Plan covers the data, hardware and software critical for a business to restart operations in the event of a natural or human-caused disaster. It also include plans for coping with the unexpected or sudden loss of key personnel.
